Tutorial: Dataset Extension

Recordings
- Download the audio files and the video recordings.
- Setup a new project in a digital audio workstation (44.1 kHz), we used Apple Logic.
- Load the audio tracks and the video into the DAW.
- The video should be placed at the beginning of the track.
- Adjust the audio offset according to the offsets given in the metadata.
- If needed: Use an external display or Tablet to stream the video.
- Start the recordings...
- Export the final tracks as 44.1 kHz WAV-files, 16 Bit (in Logic, we used markers to make sure all tracks have equal length).
Data Normalization
Once the recordings are finished, we apply loudness normalization to the data.
We used the digital audio workstation Reaper for this purpose.
- Load all WAV files to Reaper.
- Select all tracks.
- Open "File -> Render" Dialog.
- Set the normalization settings to -23 LUFS and add a Limiter to -1 dB.
- Export the files.
