Common Annotation Errors
← Back to ChoraleBricks
This page highlights common annotation errors and explains how we resolved them using Sonic Visualiser.
Missing note events/onsets
- Instruments with soft onsets often result in missing note events
- Delete the note event
- Redraw the tne note events and align them to the waveform
Octave errors
- Especially at note beginnings, the F0 might be off by an octave (e.g., stemming from onset noises)
- We typically correct the annoation by adding a "Melodic Range Spectrogram" and set the scale to dB^2
- First, remove the wrong F0 trajectory
- Second, redraw the trajectory by following the peaks in the spectrogram
